Only 10% of the worlds bamboo forests are used for commercial purposes, and only certain strains of bamboo are suitable for clothing manufacture.No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used in the cultivation of bamboo as it has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. The unique properties kill and help prevent the spread of bacteria. They are maintained when a garment is manufactured using bamboo pulp. The naturally occurring antibacterial and antifungal properties called 'Bamboo Kun' bond tightly to the cellulose molecules of the bamboo fibre. This natural property is retained in the production of the bamboo fabric and even after extensive commercial washing, (over 50 cycles).Bamboo fabric is quick drying and can absorb up to four times more moisture than cotton. In hot climates Bamboo will allow much greater breath ability, keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.
