Rhino UK is proud to present an exclusive item featuring the TOP DECK label, a peerless Jamaican imprint that released the best in Ska (it operated between 1963-1966), and this singles box set features 8 COLOUR VINYL 45’s, housed in a facsimile quarter-inch studio tape box. Utilising the talents of THE SKATALITES, these singles focus on vocals for the “A'' sides, with highly prized instrumentals on the flips featuring the likes of Roland Alphonso, Don Drummond & Johnny Moore as soloists, but with Jackie Mittoo, Lynn Taitt, Baba Brooks and Tommy McCook in supporting roles. This is the first time these sides have been available on vinyl (exact replicas on yellow, red, green and blue singles), since they came out in Jamaica in the early 1960’s. In terms of quality of the music, these tracks are on a par with contemporary releases on Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One label.
