The SteelSet is the strongest headset we've made to date. The cups are completely redesigned and made of (you guessed it) steel. Bearing cap too.We like steel here at King. You don't need much of it to make something very strong. Absolutely the case with the SteelSet.The cups press into the frame a full inch deep (that's about 3 times deeper than a normal headset cup). This extra deep press into the frame will help to protect your frameset investment. At our tech events, we almost always see a few very expensive downhill frames with ovalized headtubes. Most of them can't be repaired. That hurts. While this headset does not guarantee total frame protection, it will definitely increase the strength of this area of your bike a great deal. Chris King ISO 20mm Thru Axle Disc Front Hub: This design was a challenge. As with all of our products, we wanted the 20mm Thru-Axle Front Disc Hub to be the best that money could buy. Our design criteria were simple: a one piece super strong axle that could be adjusted in the field with a single wrench, without removing the wheel, the toughest bearings possible and it needs to build an excellent wheel while still looking sharp and not weigh in like a stuffed pig.We had to design an entirely new bearing for this guy. It is about the same size as a one inch headset bearing. Bigger than anything else out there. A high strength, 110mm, one piece aluminum axle is capped with 2 stainless steel axle biters to hold onto your fork legs like crazy. Why a one piece axle? Some other hubs require that you adjust the hub bearings by clamping the fork legs together harder, while others have no adjustments at all. You want strong? Looking for reliability and ease of adjustment? Look no further. Chris King ISO Disc Rear Hub: Months of design and testing went into our ISO disc hubset. During the development process, we adapted our machines to use larger bar stock when we make the hub shells. This manufacturing improvement allowed us to increase the spoke flange diameter significantly. A larger spoke flange spreads the spoke holes away from each other. Also, you can use shorter spokes to build a more durable, stiffer and stronger wheel.Make no mistake, these are not ''disposable'' parts. There are a lot of super light hubs out there, but will they still be working in 2 years? How about 5? If you ride a lot, 5 years is a lot of panic stops, high speed feathering and braking bumps. Like all of our other hubs, these carry a 5 year warranty. It is easy to make a really light hub, not so easy to make one that you can sell with confidence and back that up for 5 full years.
