It was the goal that sealed Leeds United's claim on a trophy that had eluded them for so many years. The campaign had seen United defeat Bristol Rovers, Liverpool, Cardiff and Spurs before outclassing second division Birmingham at Hillsborough in the semi-final. The game began frantically. Arsenal's full back McNab became the first player to be booked in a Wembley final, before United orchestrated some fine attacking moves. With Bremner and Giles controlling the midfield, Clarke remained a constant threat up-front and rattled the cross-bar with a firm header. The goal came shortly after the restart when man-of-the-match Clarke arrowed a superb diving header past Barnett in the Arsenal net. It is probably the most famous goal in Leeds United's illustrious history, and signalled a Leeds onslaught. A succession of sweeping, attacking moves had Arsenal pinned back, but the second goal proved elusive. Arsenal had chances, Harvey saved well from McLintock and George struck the bar - but these proved only to be isolated incidents in a game that United controlled. Wembley was awash in a sea of White and Billy Bremner became the first Leeds United captain to raise the FA cup above his head. The wait was over... and now see it all over again!!

Re-live three of the most memorable victories from an incredible season for Everton! Enjoy Lee Carsley putting Liverpool to the sword, Duncan Ferguson hammering Manchester United into submission and the two-goal salvo that sent the Geordies packing put Champions League qualification within touching distance... Saturday 11 December 2004 - Everton 1 Liverpool 0 ''This result means a lot to everyone. The players and the fans are buzzing and it's been a big day for us all,'' - Lee Carsley. It was the 200th Merseyside derby, it was Goodison Park's biggest ever Premiership attendance and Lee Carsley was the hero of the hour, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win. It not only gave Everton the bragging rights on Merseyside, it also lifted the team into 2nd position in the Premiership table. Wednesday 20 April 2005 - Everton 1 Manchester United 0 ''It was an incredible atmosphere, one of the best nights I've ever had at Goodison. It was terrific.'' - David Moyes Goodison was rocking from the first whistle to the last as Everton took the game to United to record their first win over Sir Alex Ferguson's side since 1995. Ten years of waiting was ended by Duncan Ferguson, who rolled back the years to give a typically robust and energetic centre-forward display, scoring the only goal of the game in the second half with a trademark header. Saturday 7 May 2005 - Everton 2 Newcastle United 0 ''If results go our way on Sunday, then we will be celebrating and it would be a marvellous achievement.'' - Alan Stubbs Nearly there! Results DID go Everton's way twenty-four hours later and so this superb win over Newcastle ensured that the Champion's League dream became reality. David Weir's first goal of the seasons coupled with Tim Cahill's eleventh gave The Toffees a 2-0 success in their final home match and sparked scenes of joyous celebration after the final whistle.

The 1960 European Cup Final between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt is considered by many to be the greatest ever played. Real were crowned king's of Europe for the fifth straight time on that incredible day at Hampden Park in front of a world record 135,000 fans. Real Madrid had dominated the European cup from its inception in 1956 and on that hot summers day in Glasgow, Real played some of the best football ever seen and caused astonishment all over the world. Although the German side opened the scoring, the white machine eventually crushed them. The four goals by Ferenc Puskas together with Alfredo di Stefano's three proved enough to certify the superiority of the squad that Miguel Munoz was coaching at the time. It was in that game that Real Madrid made football into art. Relive this momentous occasion in football in the original archive black and white film, with commentary by Kenneth Wolstenholme. Marvel at the legendary brilliance of Puskas, Gento and Di Stefano in this classic film, arguably the greatest football match of all time.

In May 1957 John Dixon lifted the FA Cup for Aston Villa under the twin towers for a record seventh time in the clubs illustrious history. The Midlands giants were record breakers at the time, winning the coveted trophy more times than any other team in the oldest and greatest annual knockout competition in world football. The Villains were a formidable force in the late 50's, Eric Houghton had made a real impact at Villa Park since taking over the managerial reigns after arriving from Notts County. He immediately endeared himself to the fans by introducing exciting teenagers to the side like 19-year-old Peter McParland. The youngster made an immediate impact and was swiftly followed into the first eleven by Ken Roberts, Joe Tyrrell and Derek Pace and it was these players who formed the back bone of the side that defeated the much coveted ''Busby Babes''. Villa needed a replay to overcome West Brom in the semi final and faced Manchester United who had denied Birmingham the chance of meeting their fiercest rivals at Wembley, by beating them 2-0. The score was 0-0 at half-time, but after 66 minutes Peter McParland struck, heading in Dixon's cross. McParland added a second six minutes later to ensure hero status. But the match was marked by controversy over the sixth minute injury to United goalkeeper Ray Wood, who broke his jaw in a challenge with McParland and had to go off. He came back later as a passenger on the wing. Centre Half Jackie Blanchflower took over in goal and Duncan Edwards replaced Blanchflower in the middle of defence. For more than an hour Villa pressed home here advantage, with Blanchflower excelling between the sticks. But two goals from McParland midway through the second half finally settled the match, Tommy Taylors late goal for United not being enough. Now you can relive this golden moment of history all over again as we bring you the full uninterrupted 90 minutes, including the original commentary by Kenneth Wolstenholme.

The Date: May 13th 2006 The Place: The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff The Event: The 125th FA Cup Final. Could Liverpool win the FA Cup for the seventh time in their history? Last season's heroic Champions League victory has gone down in football folklore as the greatest comeback of all time. Rafa Benitez's team never seem to know when they are beaten, and that indefatigable spirit was called upon again as opponents West Ham United raced to a 2-0 lead inside half an hour through a Carragher own goal and a smartly taken chance by Ashton after a Reina fumble. As in Istanbul, it was Liverpool's Captain who inspired the team to an improbable comeback; a superb cross found Cisse behind the West Ham defence and Liverpool were back in the game as half-time arrived. Within a minute of the restart West Ham had a great chance to restore their two goal lead when Reina denied both Harewood and Benayoun in quick succession. Undeterred, Liverpool continued to look for the equaliser and in the 54th minute Gerrard pounced on a Crouch knock-down to emphatically level for Liverpool. Still the drama wasn't over. Konchesky put over a hopeful cross that looped over the Liverpool keeper to make it 3-2 to West Ham. As four minutes of injury time was announced, could anything deny West Ham a glory that they'd waited 26 long years for? The answer was most definitely yes as the ball fell to an unmarked Gerrard 35 yards out. From there, Captain Fantastic hit an unerring pile driver and delivered possibly the greatest goal ever scored in an Fa Cup FInal 3-3. Extra time failed to split the weary teams, and so to the dreaded penalty shoot-out. With Jose Reina in goal for Liverpool and memories of Istanbul flooding back, the Reds looked far more confident than West ham, and so it proved. Spot kicks from Hamman, Gerrard and Riise saw Liverpool victorious and the Cup was finally on its way back to Merceyside ... The FA Cup Final of 2006 is already being called the greatest FA Cup Final of all time - it will surely come to be known as 'The Gerrard Final'.

The Date: May 13th 2006. The Place: The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. The 125th FA Cup Final. The Time Frame: 26 years since West Ham's last FA Cup Final victory. Could the underdogs from the East End compete with the European Champions? The answer was an emphatic yes as West Ham surged into a two goal lead in under half an hour in this the 125th FA Cup Final. First, a fantastic ball from the inspired Dean Ashton released the overlapping Scaloni, who crossed it hard and low, forcing Carragher to stumble the ball into his own net in trying to clear the danger. Seven minutes later, and an Etherington shot wasn't collected cleanly by the Liverpool goalkeeper Reina, who saw his fumble spill out to Ashton, who fleefully fired the Hammers into a 2-0 lead. As the Hammers looked to build on their already impressive start, Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard began to weave his magic. A superb cross from the Reds talisman found striker Djibril Cisse, and Liverpool were back in the game at 2-1, which is how it stayed until half-time. Within a minute of the re-start, West Ham had a great chance to restore their two goal lead when Reina denied both Harewood and Benayoun after great approach work from Etherington. West Ham;s luck seemed to be deserting them and in the 54th minute Gerrard pounced on a Crouch knock-down to emphatically level for Liverpool. There was a time when a West Ham might have capitulated but not this team, brilliantly marshalled by Alan Pardew. With the crows roaring them on, Irons full-back Konchesky put over a looping cross that evaded the Liverpool keeper and restored the Hammer's lead. 3-2. As the match moved into injury time could anything deny west Ham a glorious victory that their fans had waited 26 long years for? It seemed not. However, four minutes of added time had only just been announced when the ball fell to an unmarked Gerrard 35 yards out. What followed was possibly the best goal ever scored in an FA Cup Final and it was only this sheer individual brilliance which separated West Ham from the dream: 3-3. Extra time still failed to split the teams and so on to the dreaded penalty shoot-out. Liverpool just edged home as West Ham's weary legs took their toll. As West Ham reflected on their part in one of the great FA Cup Finals of all time, everyone agreed that Alan Pardew's team were both a credit to the club and to the memory of ex-managers Ron Greenwood and John Lyall. It was a proud day to be a Hammers fan. Come on you Irons.
