The house, a pretty C17th converted barn with secluded, fenced garden overlooking an orchard, is ideal for two couples or families to share as one of the bedrooms with own shower room is in an attached building. The swimming pool, 10 x 5 x 1.1-1.8m depth with rigid electric security cover, is easily supervised from the terrace or garden, and the cover conserves the warmth of the water overnight. BBQ. This delightful ecological development of three pretty, detached cottages is set amidst lush lawned gardens on a large estate 3km from Frigiliana and is ideal for couples looking for a romantic hideaway. The estate is environmentally friendly, with no chemicals used in either the saltwater pool (12m x 5m, depth 1m to 1.7m, with roman steps) or in the gardens, which are filled with colourful flowers and bordered by cypress, avocado and banana trees. Each cottage is individually furnished and decorated and is completely private with its own terrace or garden, and guests can enjoy the extensive communal lawns and large pool with sun terraces offering wonderful views of the mountains, Frigiliana and towards the sea. The charming owners also live in a cottage on the finca but do not disturb guests and each cottage is completely private. The beaches and restaurants of Nerja are 8km away, but the superb views and tranquil location of Finca Carina may means you hardly want to leave here! Please note the owners keep a few dogs, cats and horses on a separate part of the finca and have asked us to mention this in case any guests suffer from allergies. There is a trampoline and boule-petanque pitch on the estate for guests use. El Lagar (formerly called Casa Cipres, but the cypress tree outside had to be cut down) has a lounge/dining room, modern kitchen with hob and oven, fridge and washing machine, double bedroom (overlooking the lounge) and shower/WC. St Tropez is easily accessible by boat from Le Lavandou (13 km) every Tuesday and Saturday and is a relaxing alternative to traveling by car into the famous town. The area also has many vineyards where you can taste the local Cotes de Provence wines. The 18 hole Golf course at Valcros is just a couple of km and can be booked through the private villa reception. Airports: Toulon/Hy res 15 km and Marseille 130 km and Nice 165 km. Nestling against a backdrop of hills between Nerja (4km) and Frigiliana (1km), La Molineta is a 300 year old watermill in a small hamlet of houses within a surrounding wall, and has recently been declared a ‘Protected Property of Outstanding Attraction’ by the Spanish authorities. Lovingly restored over the last 40 years, each of the 8 houses has its own individual character and furnishings, much superior to the usual holiday villa. It has been featured in several interior design magazines and the larger houses in particular are furnished with antiques, fine paintings and other works of art. The houses are entirely private from each other and are on different levels, linked by a series of steps and pathways. The beautiful terraced gardens are a special feature of La Molineta and are full of colour, scented shrubs and fruit trees. Each has its own private garden, BBQ and terrace and 7 of the 8 houses have their own pools. Wood burning stoves are provided for cooler evenings. The houses can be booked individually by couples or families, or 2 or more houses can be taken together by a larger party. There is ample parking to one side of the hamlet, whilst El Molino Viejo has its own space adjacent to the house. El Molino Viejo (or The Old Mill) is reached by a steep pathway (accessible by a small car), El Molino stands at the back of the hamlet and has been converted into a spacious, light and most unusual house, with a delightful shaded garden and separate infinity-style swimming pool (9m x 3.5m, depth 1.1m to 2m) area with classical summer house and sun terraces with sea views. Inside, there is a lounge with satellite TV, DVD and CD player and doors opening onto the garden and dining terrace, separate dining hall, kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are 2 double and 1 twin bedrooms, all with ensuite bathroom or shower/WC, plus a further double bedroom with bathroom and private patio (and access to the garden) downstairs. with so much space both inside and out, El Molino is the perfect holiday home. There is a gate at the far side of the garden which leads to La Media Luna (SSN012) - ideal for two families travelling together, although the two houses are quite separate and completely private.
