This Requiem was written in memory of Princess Diana and Mother Theresa, both of whom tragically passed away within a week of each other, during the summer of 1997. The life of Diana is represented in the Psalm movements, which are sung by the soloists, and the life of Theresa in the liturgical movements, which are sung by the Chorus. The Requiem tries to intertwine both the secular and the sacred into a single celebration of the human spirit, something which has become even more relevant since September 11th.
